King George of YOLO Opens Up About the Vision Behind Stadium Tours with Chief

Chief, popularly known as King George from YOLO, is taking his love for football, travel and storytelling to a whole new level with his show, Stadium Tours with Chief.

The show, which started in January 2024, was born from a simple but powerful idea: to bring sports fans closer to the stadiums they love but may never get the chance to visit in person.

For Chief, the inspiration is personal. Growing up as a Chelsea fan in Bubashi, he always admired Stamford Bridge from afar. Like many passionate fans, he knew the name, the history and the feeling attached to the club, but he did not have access to what was behind the gates.

“There was no show to give us the real inside look,” he shared. “So when I grew up and got access, I decided to democratise that access.”

That is exactly what Stadium Tours with Chief sets out to do. The show takes viewers into some of the world’s most iconic stadiums, offering more than just visuals of the pitch and stands. Chief tells the stories behind the grounds, explores the architecture, captures the culture and helps fans understand why these places matter.

The World Cup Edition

The latest chapter of the show is the World Cup Edition, inspired by the scale and global appeal of the FIFA World Cup.

According to Chief, the World Cup is the biggest sporting event in the world, and because it features several major stadiums across different cities, it made sense to create a guide for fans and travellers.

In this edition, viewers are not only introduced to stadiums. They also get a feel of the host cities, including where to eat, where to sleep and what places to visit.

The goal is to make the show both entertaining and useful. For fans planning to travel, it works as a guide. For those watching from home, it offers a front-row experience.

Stadiums That Left a Mark

When asked which stadium gave him the most unforgettable reaction, Chief pointed to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

“My God, that is an architectural marvel,” he said, describing the stadium as “a breathing machine” because of its impressive retractable roof.

He also mentioned Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund for its culture and fan energy, as well as Manchester City’s stadium in Manchester, which he said carries a calm, confident aura.

For Chief, what makes a stadium truly stand out comes down to three things: architecture, history and fans.

A stadium may have beautiful terraces and world-class design, but without fans to bring it alive, something is missing. That is why grounds like Signal Iduna Park, Anfield and Old Trafford remain special. They are not just buildings. They are charged spaces filled with emotion, memory and identity.

Raw Reactions, Real Storytelling

One of the strongest parts of Stadium Tours with Chief is how personal the storytelling feels.

Chief says he wants viewers to feel connected because he approaches every stadium from a fan’s perspective. He is not trying to act like someone who has seen it all before. When he is shocked, happy or overwhelmed, the audience sees it.

“When I go to these places, I’m naturally surprised. I’m naturally happy,” he said.

That honesty is what gives the show its charm. It is not overly polished to the point where the emotion disappears. Instead, viewers get raw reactions, fun moments and useful facts that can help them appreciate the stadiums better.

The Work Behind the Scenes

While the final content may look exciting, Chief admits that producing travel and sports content at this level comes with serious challenges.

Scheduling, for instance, can be difficult. Stadium availability, travel routes and filming permissions all have to align. During the World Cup edition, he had to sleep on flights while moving between cities such as Atlanta, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Texas.

There is also the unpredictability of filming in football spaces. He recalled an experience in Basel, Switzerland, where ultras stopped him because they thought he was an “op.” For him, moments like that are part of football culture, even when they are difficult.

Other challenges include being told to put cameras down unexpectedly, learning about stadiums in real time and finding a way to explain everything in a way that feels simple and relatable.

Still, Chief says those challenges make the work worth it.

Dream Stadiums and Bigger Ambitions

Despite already visiting some impressive venues, Chief still has a dream list.

As a Chelsea fan, Stamford Bridge remains at the top. He also wants to explore historic stadiums like Estadio Azteca in Mexico, where Diego Maradona famously scored the “Hand of God” goal against England, as well as the Maracanã in Brazil, the Accra Sports Stadium, Santiago Bernabéu and Camp Nou.

Looking ahead, Chief sees Stadium Tours with Chief becoming a global brand.

The dream is to translate the show into different languages, put it on television, create merchandise and reach viewers across the world, from Brazil to San Francisco, Australia and beyond.

For him, the show is not only for African audiences. It is built for anyone who loves sport, travel, architecture and great stories.

Chief is clearly building something meaningful beyond acting, and it is refreshing to see. Stadium Tours with Chief is more than a travel show. It is a fan’s journey into the heart of football culture.
